Dean's Message

Welcome to the College of Business and Economics.

At the College of Business and Economics (CBE), we teach our students how to innovate and turn their ideas into successful ventures and sustainable enterprises. We also educate them on sustainable business practices and equip them with the skills and competencies they need to manage effectively and lead ethically in any context or organization.

Our Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) offers the opportunity to choose among six majors (Accounting, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Management and Management Information Systems) and a variety of minors. Our graduate programs include a PhD in Business Administration, Master's Degrees in Business Administration, Accounting, Science in Marketing, Science in Finance, and an Executive Master Program in Leadership.

The rigor and quality of our programs have been recognized internationally, as the college is accredited from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). In addition, our accounting program is accredited by (AACSB - Accounting).

It goes without saying that we live in a very dynamic and constantly disrupted environment. Hence, the world of business is rapidly changing and so should business education and our curriculum. We are constantly revisiting our programs' portfolio, curricula and pedagogies to better prepare our graduates for the ever-evolving demands of the job market and to better respond to society challenges and needs. We are proud to launch a Master's in Business Analytics starting from fall 2024. More innovative minors and programs are underway.

Our college hosts leading researchers and competent teachers who strive to provide transformational and immersive learning experiences to our students. The high-quality research output of our faculty and graduate students is constantly advancing knowledge and impacting the business community.

The last few years have revealed deep and significant challenges to global economy and society that need to be addressed, such as business unsustainability, inflation, political instability and climate change. Business is not only about creating economic or financial value, but also about creating social and environmental value. Our dedicated educators inspire our students to both generate financial value and drive positive change while addressing societal challenges.

If the past few years have taught us anything, it is that we need to be more compassionate and care about each other and about the community and the planet we live in. Our graduates, faculty, teaching practices and research make a real impact on the community and society. As educators, we feel a profound sense of responsibility to help prepare generations capable of creating a sustainable and prosperous future in Qatar and a better world for all. This mission is further supported by the role of our Center of Entrepreneurship and Organizational Excellence in promoting innovation for business sustainability and societal impact.

By joining the College of Business and Economics, you will become part of a strong network and vibrant community that includes students, faculty, alumni, business organizations and other partners. Our graduates often secure senior leadership positions in a wide range of organizations and sectors or become successful entrepreneurs.
