Qatar University Teaching in Higher Education Fellowship in collaboration with Harvard Graduate School of Education.
In recognition of education as one of the most critical pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030 and in support of the Qatar University Strategic Plan, the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) introduces a higher education (HE) professional development initiative (Fellowship) in collaboration with Professional Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE).
About the Teaching in Higher Education Fellowship:
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at Qatar University (QU) and Professional Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) at Harvard University offer a set of professional development courses for selected QU faculty members. Upon successful completion of the program requirements, the participant will receive a certificate endorsed by Professional Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
Qatar University Teaching in Higher Education Fellowship (QUTF) is an exciting opportunity for professional development. It is open to regular faculty from all disciplines and is designed to provide participants with the tools, resources, and support necessary to achieve high-quality teaching skills and advance their academic careers.
The fellowship covers all the participants’ tuition fees for the Harvard Courses.
Fellowship timeline:
The fellowship includes a variety of courses offered by Qatar University and Professional Education at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and is planned to cover one academic year (2 semesters).
Target audience:
This certificate is designed for selected academics who are committed to cultivating a modern state-of-the-art student learning environment and possess the mindset, commitment, and dedication to embrace innovative teaching and learning approaches at their colleges and across QU.
Purpose of the program:
This certificate program supports QU faculty members to engage in effective modern higher education teaching and learning methods incorporating foundational principles of effective higher education design and delivery as well as contemporary pedagogies in line with QU educational excellence themes. Participants will reflect on their practices, create portfolios, and embark on a unique teaching journey.
QU participants will also have the opportunity to engage with other fellow participants and HGSE faculty through live sessions, discussion boards, and informal break-out sessions. This is expected to enrich the professional development experience of QU participants through the intermarriage between the school of thought of academics at QU and different schools of thought of participants from other institutes worldwide.

Complete and submit the Fellowship Application Form and attach a CV as well as a commitment statement signed by your Department Head and Dean by 11 September 2023.
