Our Story
QUYSC is a normal expansion of the existing highly successful project-based research and modular STEM education carried out by Al-Bairaq, which was established in 2010 by Prof. Noora Jabor Al-thani under the full-fledged support of Qatar University. The new center act as the main hub for the students to practice scientific activities besides facilitating access of high school students to STEM fields of education at QU. It will work closely with other existing outreach and short-term promotional activities carried out by various departments and colleges at QU to complement their mission and to offer maximum support

Mission
QUYSC's mission is to provide comprehensive, high-quality STEM education and research projects that advance knowledge in the field. QUYSC collaboratively acts across all levels of the educational spectrum at QU to recognize, attract, nurture and develop talent among Qataris school students.
Novelty
The center is a hub for opportunity by facilitating access and passion of school students to STEM courses of the universities through its unique project-based and interesting interdisciplinary modular system. It has accessibility to a large number of schools and works effectively between them and the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE). In addition to sites at schools, QUYSC host activities and project-based research conducted at the QU campus. Recognized by WISE & other national and international reputable organizations and competitions, it delivers a research-driven integrated STEM program and bring inquiry and STEM design pedagogy that meets 21st-century work skill-set to the classrooms. It provides an interactive program with real-time assessment by applying horizontal and vertical integration of STEM curricula. The center promotes community support to boost STEM literacy, and regional workforce and economic development.

QUYSC capacitates a well-qualified and experienced team of facilitators, who have the zeal to drive unified and passionate in accomplishing the mission goals. The team aims at providing world-class STEM education through well-designed modular curriculum and research opportunities in fostering the vital competences and resilience in the youth of Qatar.
