Course overview
This course is a 5-day workshop for grade 3 and 4 students. It discusses theories about forces, motion, balance and factors affecting those, using hands on activities and interactive tools that provoke critical thinking and hone creativity skills. You will learn that forces is everywhere around you and affecting every action in your life. Forces can be the solution to many problems and can help in accomplishing important tasks. This workshop also allows you to understand newton’s laws of motion in a fun educational way by performing interesting scientific activities and educational games. It follows STEAM curriculum and offers challenges from different STEAM branches to allow you deliver innovative ideas and tackle real life problems.
Course content
The module covered several engaging topics, which are:
- Introduction to forces and types of forces
- Balance of forces
- Factors affecting friction force
- Newton’s laws of motion
- Build the force powered balloon car
Course objective
- To introduce the forces and laws of motion in an educational fun environment
- To explain the difference between balanced and unbalanced forces through interactive games
- To encourage students to integrate STEM subjects to solve problems and think critically
- To correlate the forces concepts to the real life applications of the young students
- To enhance teamwork to perform activities
- To motivate students to brainstorm new ideas and build creative prototypes
- To enhance presentation and communication skills through final presentation exhibition
