The department of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics aspires to be recognized for providing high quality education, pursuing outstanding research, and contributing to community and professional services in the State of Qatar as well as internationally.
Mission
The MSP Department aims to produce competent graduates and to provide solid base in the foundation of Mathematics, Statistics and Physic to other disciplines. The Department also seeks to advance the University and the Qatar Society through scholarly activities.

- Maintain high teaching quality
- Contribute effectively to the growth and development of the society by opening new programs as needed
- Develop and Maintain high quality research within the department
- Create and maintain productive collaboration with internal and external communities
Objectives
- To enrich graduates with a high level of knowledge and skills
- To retain high quality faculty members
- To emphasize the role of mathematics, statistics and physics in developing critical thinking
- Establish new academic programs to meet the growing market demands in the region
- Enhance research quality and productivity
- Develop and support strategic research partnership within and outside Qatar University
- Strengthen departmental programs in order to enhance research productivity
- Raise awareness of the significance of the programs of MSP Department among society constituencies
- Increase and enhance the role of the academic programs of the MSP Department within the internal and external community
- Foster and keep up relations with the Department Alumni
