    How long will it take me to complete the PharmD program?

    The full-time program will take one academic year. The part-time program can be completed in 2-4 years.

    How many students will be admitted?

    Class sizes will be determined annually based on college capacity and college approval.

    Is an interview required?

    Yes.

    Do I need to submit original documents?

    Original documents (including the prometric exam results) are required to be submitted upon official admission to the program.

    Are Qatar University College of Pharmacy students required to take the IELTS/TOFEL examinations?

    This requirement is waived for Qatar University College of Pharmacy graduates.

    Are Qatar University College of Pharmacy students required to upload the final transcript to complete the online application?

    Qatar University College of Pharmacy students are not required to upload the final transcript as they will not be ready by the application deadline. However, students must have at least a 2.8 GPA at the time of application to be eligible to apply for the program.

    Will the applicant be allowed to submit the references letter?

    Letters will not be accepted if received directly from the applicant. The letters of reference must be sent directly from the referee to pharmd@qu.edu.qa.

    What documents are required to be sent to the College of Pharmacy by the application deadline?

    A copy of the applicant’s CV, Prometric exam results, letters of reference, and personal statement. The documents should be sent to pharmd@qu.edu.qa  so they may be reviewed by the admission committee prior to the interview.

    What is the purpose of the bridge course assessment?

    Students who are selected to the part-time PharmD study plan will undergo a bridge course assessment to determine the number of bridge courses required to be taken by the student before entry to the PharmD program. Based on the results of the assessment, the bridge courses will be tailored to meet the learning needs of the individual student. Passing all bridge courses is a requirement to be permitted entry to the PharmD program.

    How heavy is the workload for the Part-time PharmD Study Plan?

    An average of 10 hours a week is required to keep up with the bridge courses within the part-time study plan. In addition, each month, there will be 2 on-campus sessions lasting 4-5 hours. The internship phase will involve eight (4 week) clinical rotations which requires a minimum 40 hours/week.

    Is travel to Qatar University College of Pharmacy campus necessary to complete the program?

    Yes.

    Are applicants to the Part-time PharmD study plan required to be practicing in Qatar?

    Applicants do not have to be working as pharmacists in Qatar to be eligible to apply for the program. However, it is highly recommended that the applicant is currently enrolled in a clinical attachment program with an institution in Qatar. 

    When is my application considered complete?

    The application is considered complete once the application fee of 350 QR and the required documents are submitted to the College and the graduate admission office at Qatar University.

    What are the tuition costs?

    Tuition costs are set by the university. Tuition fees for graduate programs are 2000 QR per credit-hour.

    Does Qatar University offer scholarships for students applying to the PharmD program?

    Scholarships are not offered for students applying to the PharmD program.
