Nanotechnology and advanced nanomedicines offer the means to target therapies directly and selectively to the cancer cells. Our research is focused on the design of nanodrug delivery systems with selective delivery, which is a practical solution to the challenges associated with non-specific delivery of therapeutic and diagnostic agents that leads to ineffective treatments, often accompanied by high incidence of adverse effects. The advanced delivery systems provide smart solutions to overcome clinical issues associated with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, atherosclerosis, hemorrhagic stroke, genetic diseases, infectious diseases and offer significant progress in regenerative medicine, control and monitoring of engineered tissues. Our team designs different nanomedicines to achieve selective delivery by the principle of passive and active targeting and evaluates the physicochemical properties, efficacy and safety of these systems using in vitro cell culture experiments and in vivo cancer models.
