    Mission


    The mission of the office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs is to support Academic programs to excel by assisting Colleges  and Academic Units  to  nurture an educational environment that promotes and sustains life-long learning and emphasizes high standards for teaching that develop creative and critical thinking skills in our students. In cooperation with various academic and non-academic units in Qatar University, we adhere to the following principles:

    • Decentralization coupled with continuous coaching, mentoring, strengthening and empowering of middle management to exercise their authority as decision-makers.
    • Realization of a result-oriented work culture by setting crystal-clear expectations, along with built-in measure of performance indicators.
    • Reinforcement of data-based and well researched decisions, open communication, transparency, and customer-service environment where we emphasize efficiency, value for money, maximizing high-returns on investment, optimization, and unrivaled quality in whatever we carry out.
    • Institutionalization of best practices and effective procedures through well established self-regulating systems possessing self-enhancement and sustainable mechanisms that are functional regardless of who is in charge.
    • Infusion of the culture of accountability, by developing reliable assessment reporting measures that unmistakably outline accomplishment verses expectations.
