    8th GASNA Competition



    8th GASNA Competition – Competition Summary

    The ultimate objective of launching this national competition is to enhance the understanding of the importance of gas and gas processing to the economy and the future of Qatar.  Children are the future business leaders, teachers, engineers, scientists, and CEOs who will lead the growth and development in the country, and it is crucial that they start owning their future today.

    The 8th GASNA competition for the academic year 21/22 will officially be launched on October 20th, 2021.

    The deadline for registration is December 20th, 2021. The submissions deadline is  March 20th, 2022. winners will be announced on April 3rd, 2022.

    The announcement of winning teams will be on the last day of the event.

    The rules of the competition are stated below:

    Competition Categories

    • 1st Category:      KG – 4th
    • 2nd Category:     5th and 6th
    • 3rd Category:     7th – 9th
    • 4th Category:    10th – 12th

    There should be a maximum of one team per category; each team can be up to 4 students (either boys or girls. Mixed teams are not allowed) and a teacher. 1st Category only can participate with up to 10 students.

    Submission types:

    Schools should select one of the submissions below for each category they are participating in:

    Submission

    First: KG – 4th

    • Performance (10 minutes performance on any topic related to Gas industry, school can use any objects to help their performance)

    Second: 5th and 6th

    • Prototype Model (dimensions should be 50W*50L*50H all in cm).

    Third: 7th – 9th

    • Posters (A1 size poster on any topic related to Gas industry topic)
    • Prototype Model (dimensions should be 50W*50L*50H all in cm)

    Fourth: 10th – 12th

    • Posters (A1 size poster on any topic related to Gas industry topic)
    • Prototype Model (dimensions should be 50W*50L*50H all in cm)

    Submissions may include (but are not limited to) topics such as:

    • Gas Processing & Production
    • Environmental Issues related to gas industry
    • Natural Gas Conversion and Utilization
    • Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions, capture, and storage
    • Industrial processed Water Treatment

    The exact dates will be announced during the lunching press conference.

    Guidelines

    Each school can have a maximum of one submission per category. Schools must fill the submission form and send it to QU before the submission deadline in October 2021.

    Presentations and evaluations of submissions will be by March 20th, 2022. announcing winners will be on April 3rd, 2022. The following points must be

    Submitted work should be successful in expressing relevance to the gas industry and informative.

     

    Impact

    The submitted work should have importance nationally, regionally, or globally.

    Raises awareness about the gas industry.

    Innovation

    Creative approach in presenting the topic.

    Methodology

    Methods are clearly stated.

    The approach is clear and logical.

    Well-thought-out.

    Time Frame

    Does not exceed the designated time

    Submission Specifications

    Submission is within the designated criteria as informed.

    Presentation Skills

    Students Presentation skills such as (understanding the topic, eye contact, body language, etc.) considered in presenting the submission.
