Tingyi Wang is an assistant professor at the Institute for International and Area Studies, Tsinghua University (2019-). He is now a visiting professor at the Gulf Studies Center, Qatar University (2021-). He also holds fellowships at the University of Exeter as an honorary research fellow (2022-) and King Faisal Center as an associate fellow (2017-). He is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

She specializes in Middle East politics with a focus on the Gulf area. She is currently Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the Universidad de Monterrey, México. Her areas of research interest include: international relations of the Arab Gulf, including regional dynamics and the relationships with Latin American countries, particularly Mexico. Besides research on the process of democratization in the Arab Gulf. Focus on issues related to citizenship and gender re-signification practices, as well as theoretical debate on political systems, their resilience and change possibilities. She has conducted field research on Saudi Arabia and Yemen on the topic of gender and political participation. Among her recent publications are: The Arab/Persian Gulf and Latin America as an avenue for South-South Cooperation: Brazil and Mexico amid opportunities and challenges” (2015) in Latin America and the Middle East: crossed perspectives ; co-editor of Voces, Tramas y Trayectorias: las protestas populares (2014); “Saudi Women under the Context of the Arab Spring”, Ortadoğu Etütleri 5,2;
