    Enrollment Override Service

    The electronic enrollment override service allows students to override a specific restriction to be able to register for the required course based on their fulfilment of the required conditions and approvals, and this service includes:

    • Capacity: Closed section
    • College Restriction: Restricted to students of a specific college
    • Major Restriction: Restricted to students of a specific major
    • Class Restriction: The class of a student (freshman, senior, etc.) not yet met
    • Program Restriction: Restricted for a specific program
    • Special approval: Approval is needed from the requested course department
    • Repeat limit exceeded.
    • Pre-Requisite.

    Important notes about​ the service:

    • This service will include courses offered by all colleges at QU, allowing students from different colleges to request courses with restrictions in any college within the university.
    • Courses with an active waiting list will not be included in this service. The waiting list must be activated before the application period for the Override System begins.
    • These services are activated for all semesters.
    • The Registration Section reserves the right to reject requests that are not responded to within the specified time frame.
    • The Registration Section will handle requests from CCQ students and visiting students on behalf of academic advising, as they are not assigned advisors at QU.

    Step 1: The student will fill out the electronic request for the Override Service through the Banner system.

    Step 2: The request will be electronically forwarded to the Academic Advisor, who will review it, study the case, and make an appropriate decision through the system.

    Step 3: The request will then be electronically forwarded to the Head of the Academic Department offering the course, who will conduct the final evaluation and make the appropriate decision through the system.

    Step 4: The student must register for the available sections after receiving the final approval.

    • A student can apply only three times for this service per semester.
    • If the entered information is incorrect or incomplete, the request will not be processed.
    • It is the responsibility of the student to follow up and ensure the completion of the application.
    • The student must register for the required course through self-service after receiving the email confirming the approval of the request.
    • The student must register for the course before the drop/add period ends.
    • Tuition fees will be charged for courses retaken for the third time or more.
    • The Academic Advisor can reject any request but should mention the reason.
    • The respective academic department has the right to reject the request, provided that the reasons for the rejection are stated.​​
