    Exemption Rules for Health Cluster Colleges

    Applicants to the Medical and Health Sciences Colleges are expected to possess minimum basic skills to be eligible to apply to the medical academic programs. To be considered for undergraduate admission to these colleges, all applicants must demonstrate proficiency in English and mathematics as described here and on each program's admission requirements page.

    I. Competency Test requirements 

    Following are the minimum competency requirements for English and Mathematics as set by the Qatar University for the Health Cluster Colleges (Medical and Health Sciences Colleges​).

    IELTS ≥ 6 or
    TOEFL IBT ≥ 68

    ACT ≥ 21 or
    QU-PLACER Math test 200

    * Non-Qatari applicants are required to meet the minimum English and mathematics requirements as a mandatory requirement for applying to the college, while Qatari applicants who do not meet these requirements can enroll in the Foundation Program.




    ** All applicants are required to meet the minimum English and mathematics requirements as a mandatory requirement for applying to the College of Medicine and College of Dental Medicine.

    II. Competency Test Score's Validity

    The English and Mathematics test scores submitted should be valid on the first day of the class of the semester to which the application is made. Score reports that are invalid are not processed. Students with scores older than the validity period should retake the test and submit the score to the Qatar University Testing Center.

    III. Important Notes

    • English and Mathematics test scores must be submitted to the Qatar University Testing Center before the deadline to submit in order to process your application. Late submission of grades will affect the assessment of the application.
    • Students must submit these test scores to the Qatar University Testing Center following the instructions here.
    • The Medical and Health Sciences Colleges do not accept ACCUPLACER ESL-English scores.
    • The Medical and Health Sciences Colleges accept the QU-Placer Math Test, and registration is through the Testing Center. They also accept international exams in Mathematics, such as (ACT-SAT).

    • Qatar University Testing Center reserves the right to verify any standardized test scores and re-test students.
