Welcome to the Department of English Literature & Linguistics (DELL)
Do you share our love for English literature, from enduring classics to contemporary poetry and drama? Or maybe you find yourself fascinated by the nuances of language – how it is constructed and maintained in everyday prejudices. If yes, you are in the right place. We have a carefully crafted undergraduate program that combines English literature and linguistics. To provide a solid foundation in both disciplines, we introduce all our majors to courses in literature and linguistics during their freshman year. This exposure equips them to decide upon their career paths and allows them to choose to concentrate on either literature or linguistics. DELL offers four additional minor programs: English, Translation, French, and Spanish. Furthermore, English majors are able to minor in a variety of disciplines, including Mass Communication, International Affairs, Business, or Philosophy. This interdisciplinary approach enhances each of our students' educational experience besides providing them with broad professional training that makes them highly attractive candidates for the competitive employment market.
