    B.Sc. in Mathematics


    The Department of Mathematics, Statistics and Physics at Qatar University offers the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with

    • focus in Actuarial Mathematics
    • focus in Applied Mathematics

    The program is of an interdisciplinary nature, as it is structured to offer a broad based set of core courses, focus/general/free electives from a wide range of multidisciplinary courses coupled with the requirement for a Minor involved 24 credits. On top of this, the curriculum maintains a balance between theory and applications, keeping in view the latest trends of the job market. This versatility equips our graduates with capabilities of working in diverse areas like financial sectors, industry, business, education, and government or commercial organizations.

    Actuaries achieve internationally recognized professional status by passing a set of examinations and other professional requirements set forth by international actuarial associations such as the Society of Actuaries (SOA) in the United States.

    Our program is accredited by the SOA under its Recognition Tier UCAP-IC.

    We have aligned our program to international professional actuarial qualifications so that our graduates should at least be able to:

    • pass three exams of the SOA
    • get all VEE (Validation by Educational Experience) credits from SOA
