Graduates will be well trained to work collaboratively, conduct independent and multidisciplinary research, communicate effectively and recognize  their role in solving global challenges, while promoting sustainable practice.

    Objectives

The educational objectives of the program are to:

    • Prepare graduates to establish successful careers in industry, government, or academia or to pursue further graduate studies.

    • Provide graduates with interdisciplinary knowledge and skills for solving materials related problems and challenges while promoting sustainable practices.

    • Equip graduates with appropriate research methods and techniques to successfully conduct research or applied projects in the field of materials science and technology.

    • Prepare graduates to contribute to the advancement of the profession by addressing societal needs and through effective communication skills and collaboration with colleagues.

    Program Level Student Learning Outcomes

Graduates of the program will be able to:

    1. Apply independent research skills to investigate materials science and technology related issues.

    2. Apply scientific concepts to solve problems related to materials science and technology.

    3. Analyze the properties of materials using appropriate characterization techniques.

    4. Apply appropriate techniques to predict and explain materials properties and behavior.

    5. Assess the synthesis and processing techniques appropriate for the production of materials.

    6. Assess the environmental impact of materials and related methods and processes.

    7. Communicate effectively materials science related issues orally and in writing.

Students interested in applying to the Materials Science Master program must submit an online application form and upload or send required documents to the Admissions Office. (Official hard copies of the applicant’s university transcript IELTS or TOEFL must be delivered or mailed directly to the Admissions Office). The program accepts applications twice a year in advance of the Fall and Spring semesters. Click here for more information on the general application process, including an application instruction guide, graduate admission timelines and access to the online application once it is open.
