The mission of CPD-HP is to offer innovative, flexible, evidence-informed and learner-centered professional development opportunities that align to Qatar’s National Health Strategy and focus on health improvement. The aim is to advance knowledge, competence and performance of healthcare professionals through the creation of a transformational educational environment that fosters academic excellence, inter-professional collaboration and innovation in teaching and learning. Goal of CPD-HP
The CPD-HP Program of (QU health) reflects the commitment of the four QU colleges (College of Medicine, College of Dental Medicine, College of Pharmacy and College of Health Sciences) to the CPD of health professionals in the country. The goal of the CPD-HP (QU Health) program is to support the lifelong learning of all practicing care providers to ensure optimal patient care.
The CPD-HP program achieves its mandate, in part, through the provision of educational programs that will improve and expand the competency of health professionals, researchers, physicians, dieticians, nutritionists, scientists, nurses, pharmacists and allied professionals involved in healthcare practice.
Accreditation:
Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) regulates and accredits activities of CPD / Continuing Medical Education (CME) (considered as a component of CPD) in the State of Qatar. It monitors such activities to ensure their adequacy, quality and compliance with national and international accreditation standards. The accreditation system for CPD programs plays an integral part in the license renewal process of health care practitioners in the State of Qatar, hence ensuring competency and quality in health care services, while regulating the health care practice based on evidence and assessment of needs of the Qatari health care system.
Continuing Profession Development of Health Professionals CPD-HP (QU Health) was accredited as a provider of continuing professional development (CPD) and continuing medical education (CME) in February 2017, by the Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) of the Ministry of Public Health. Since this time, CPD-HP (QU Health) has maintained its accreditation.

Chair's Message:
The CPD unit at Qatar University Health (QU-H) is committed to provide high quality, targeted training and educational activities to all healthcare practitioners in Qatar. Through close collaboration with both healthcare and educational establishments across the country, we continue to investigate the specific learning needs of the workforce and then work with local and international experts to design and develop learner-centered CPD activities to address these needs.
Established and accredited by the Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) since 2017, the CPD unit is proud to have become a key CPD provider within Qatar and is widely recognized for its contribution and commitment towards progressing health care practice within the national health system.

CPD Specialist Message
CPD-HP (QU – Health) accredits activities of medical education/continuing professional development in the state of Qatar and monitors such activities to ensure their adequacy, quality and compliance with Qatar National Accreditation Standards set by Department of Healthcare Professions (DHP) and Qatar National Health Strategy (2018 – 2022).
CPD unit helps improve the safety and quality of care provided to patients and public through offering well-designed training sessions to all healthcare practitioners to help them practice appropriately throughout their professional life.
Our effective CPD programs aim to identify professional practice gaps and contribute a positive change in knowledge, competence, and performance of healthcare practitioners.
