The second phase of the census of agriculture in Qatar was launched in cooperation between The Institute of Social and Economic Survey Research at Qatar University (QU) and The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) yesterday.
The aim of inventorying agricultural activities and cropping for the summer season, as well as counting fruitful trees, including palms, for the summer season. The inventory will cover all farms in the state.

It is worth noting that the agricultural census provides data on the agricultural structure and paints a true picture of the reality of the agricultural sector and the changes that have occurred in it, which helps in setting plans and drawing policies related to food security and sector development.

The second and final visit of the census will end at the end of next July, and the Institute appreciates the role of farm owners and officials in the cooperation and response that helped the success of the agricultural census in its first phase.
