Qatar University continues to serve as a leading example of academic and research excellence in the region through its commitment to provide high-quality education in a variety of academic areas. To underpin this commitment, QU aims to apply state - of – the- art research and academic practices and community engagement to promote and encourage academic excellence, volunteerism, civic responsibility, and leadership. The University serves as a think tank at the national level, whereby it focuses on developing the outreach and engagement efforts in the University through enhancing positive and reliable relationships with its alumni, local and international communities.
As such, the Department of Outreach & Engagement has been established under the Office of Strategy and Development to:
- Serve as a focal point to build partnerships and enhance cooperation between Qatar University and external bodies in Qatar such as governmental and private institutions, both local and international, with the aim of highlighting the university's activities, roles and academic &research capabilities, in addition to shedding light on its efforts in community service and development.
- Be responsible for building fruitful , long-term relationships with its alumni, by supporting university graduates through a wide range of activities, and recurring services throughout the year, in addition to following up on the work of the Alumni Association aiming to strengthen relationships with more than 35 batches of its graduates so that graduates are actively engaged in its activities.
