    About Us


    The Communication and Public Relations Directorate is one of QU’s most important and influential Departments at the internal and external level due to its direct relation with the University’s higher administration, officials, faculty and students. In addition, the Directorate has solid relations with other public, private, voluntary institutions, and other Qatar-based universities. Moreover, the Directorate has well-established bonds with many regional and international higher education institutions besides other international evaluation agencies and bodies.

    The Directorate works to promote and improve Qatar University’s identity and image inside the Institution and beyond. To that end, it works closely with the local and international media, and uses all media means and instruments including events and conferences. It also seeks to secure and avail the needed competences and capacities to achieve Qatar University's vision, mission and strategy.

    The Directorate supports the University’s leadership and faculty to achieve the internal and external communication objectives through providing the necessary advice and the practical support. It monitors the efficiency of the communication and public relations policies to ensure their compliance with the strategic organizational requirements of the University, as well as the internal laws, regulations and the best practices.

    The Communication and Public Relations Directorate also assists Qatar University with its digital and media appearance, publishing development, marketing, events organization and translation through an integrated strategy covering all QU’s colleges, departments and centers to enhance the Institution’s reputation locally, regionally and internationally. Moreover, it produces audiovisual and digital programs featuring the academic, cultural, scientific, sports, and student activities.

    The Directorate is very much engaged in the production of printed and audiovisual materials for the benefit of QU’s colleges and departments. At the internal and external level, it also oversees the University’s announcementys, art designs, digital boards and screens. It organizes and manages the major events such Qatar National Day, Darb Al-Saai, Qatar Sports Day, the Book Fair, and Ramadan annual gathering.

    The Communications and Public Relations Directorate consists of 3 departments and 8 sections. These are

    • the Communications Department, with two Sections: the Media and Publications Section and the Digital Media Section.
    • The Marketing and Branding Department with the Marketing and Advertising Section , and the Branding and Creative Services Section.
    • The Events Department, with the Events Section, and the Protocol, Visits and Hospitality Section.

    There are 2 Sections which are affiliated with the Director’s Office namely: the Translation and Interpretation Section; and the Communication Center.
