    Dr. Bassim H. Hammadi is a Professor at the Department of Chemical Engineering. He has 30 years’ experience in academia. He was the Head of Chemical Engineering Department in Al-Margeb University (1997-1999). Prior to joining Qatar University in 2019, he was a professor at the School of Chemical Engineering in the University of Science Malaysia (1999-2019), and was a University Senate member (2011-2018). In addition, he was appointed a visiting professor at the University of Technology PETRONAS (2017-2018), and a guest professor at Yunan Minzu University, China (2014-2017). Dr. Bassim’s expertise is in Chemical Reactor Design. He has been actively engaged in research, successfully supervised, as main supervisor, the works of five postdoctoral fellows, 22 Ph.D. researches, 26 Master research students, and more than 75 final-year research projects for the undergraduate students. His research in the field has resulted in the publication of more than 320 articles in top journals indexed in Web of Science database. His publications have made a great impact in the field by receiving more than 54,400 citations (Google Scholar) and his h-index is 115, and i10-index is 301. Dr. Bassim received many awards in recognition to his work in the field. His name was listed by Clarivate Analytics as a Highly Cited Researcher in Engineering for eight consecutive years (2014–2021). Furthermore, Shanghai Ranking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects in 2016 listed him as one of the Most Cited Researchers for Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, and Engineering Subjects. He was the recipient of Malaysia's Rising Star Award in 2016, and Malaysia's Research Star Award in 2017 and 2018.
