Rationale
In the last few years, the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have witnessed an unprecedented growth in the use of connected Internet of things (IoT), and devices to support smart living and provide upscale services, such as smart healthcare, smart manufacturing and automation, smart cities, etc. The use of ICT is witnessing a great expansion in Qatar and worldwide, all of which go in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030. ICT is the backbone of moving the economy forward through enhancing services, improving quality and reducing cost. Qatar is pushing the boundaries by trying to embed ICT in all its institutions. This is expected to play a vital role towards establishing a digital economy and building a knowledge-based society. This requires the availability of state-of-the-art infrastructure that enables Qatari institutions to use modern technologies and implement innovative solutions in contribution to achieving the national vision of the country.
