The Marine Biology laboratory in one of the most important facilities in the ESC. With more than 5000 specimens deposited in the Marine Collection this laboratory is housing the larger biodiversity dataset about the marine organism in Qatar. Including holotypes and paratypes of new species and new occurrences in Qatar Marine zone. The Marine biology lab has been a representative facility for the great majority of marine studies in the ESC in the last 30 years. Supporting in the scientific development of several students and used for several projects, supporting in ecological, taxonomical, toxicological and further studies that use marine biodiversity. Supporting directly in the scientific development for the understanding of mangroves, coral reefs, oyster beds, seagrass, fishing stock and conservation of endangered species.
