    About KINDI



    The KINDI Center facilitates and supports Computer and Information Science and Engineering research at Qatar University (QU) by capitalizing on the existing critical mass of research work in this important field and by leveraging existing local and international partnerships. KINDI is an acronym for Knowledge Intelligence, Networked Data and Interdisciplinary research, which are the focus research themes of the center. KINDI is also the name of a renowned Muslim Scientist (أبو يوسف يعقوب إبن إسحاق الكندي‎) who is known for his pioneering work in cryptography, which is a backbone of modern computer security.

    The KINDI Center aims at:

    • Fostering and providing a supportive infrastructure for collaborative and multidisciplinary research within the university.
    • Serving as a platform to enhance collaborative research with external organizations
    • Streamlining research efforts/expertise in the field and aligning them with the Qatar national research strategy.
    • Providing an environment that is conducive to supporting and improving graduate and undergraduate student research and education.
    • Promoting the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in support of a knowledge-based society and Qatar Vision 2030.
