As a part of the activities for the Annual Research Forum and Exhibition, Qatar University (QU) is organizing a poster session for QU staff who are faculty members, post docs, graduate students and undergraduate students. The best posters will be awarded in three categories covering four disciplines, in addition to a fifth discipline related to the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons (NCPW).
Categories and Disciplines
The categories:*
- Faculty and PostDoc
- Graduate Students
- Undergraduate Students
The disciplines:*
- Energy and Environment
- Social Sciences and Humanities
- Health and Biomedical Sciences
- Information and Communications Technologies (ICT)
- Special Track: The National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons (NCPW) topics related to the Prohibition of weapons of mass destruction and internationally prohibited weapons of all kinds that cover, but are not limited to:
- The comprehensive ban of nuclear weapons
- The prohibition of production, stockpiling and use of chemical weapons
- The prohibition of production and stockpiling of biological and toxin weapons
- The prohibition of use, stockpiling, production and transfer of anti-personnel mines

There is no template available. You can use your preferred software to design your poster. Make sure to adhere to the poster guidelines:
Important Notes:
- The poster layout should be in portrait orientation only.
- At least one of the primary authors of the poster must be present during the judging day (date and time will be announced later), to give 3-5 min. “elevator talk” regarding the poster, and to answer questions (if any).
- The poster has not been submitted during any previous research forum.
- The abstracts must fulfill the guidelines indicated on the QU Annual Research Forum and Exhibition 2025 website.
- Awards will be given ONLY to posters that meet the outlined criteria.
Awards
The top posters, selected by a designated committee based on:
- The Best Poster Award for Faculty and Postdoc
- The Best Poster Award for Graduate Students
- The Best Poster Award for Undergraduate Students
The award will be given based on a combination of factors including:
- The quality of research presented in the poster
- Impact of the presented work on scholarly community and/or society
- Visual impact of the poster and overall messaging
- Impact of the presented work on the objectives of the NCPW and a short abstract showing the relevance of the research to the work of the NCPW (for the fifth discipline)
Each award will include:
- Certificate recognizing the effort
- A medal (or an award determined by the NCPW for the fifth discipline)
Posters Publishing and Reviewing:
After poster acceptance by the reviewing committee, participants have the option to agree to publish their posters in QSpace.
Deadlines
- The deadline for receiving the electronic version of the poster is
15 January 2025.
- Poster evaluation to be announced in
the last 2 weeks of January 2025.
