Symposium on Supply Chain and Logistics



DEVELOPING MORE RESILIENT SUPPLY CHAIN SYSTEMS AND PRACTICES

Supply chain (SC) disruption risks and resilience have received extensive attention from researchers and practitioners, becoming increasingly relevant to businesses in different sizes and industries in maintaining their competitiveness, continuity, and sustainable business environment. Globalization, technological changes, and efficiency imperatives amid turbulent business environments expose businesses to a range of internal and external SC risks and disruptions, leading to growing interest in building more agile and resilient SC and logistics systems. Qatar, as an emerging economy similar to other parts of the world faced different major supply chain and logistics disruptions in recent years, such as the political and economic blockade, COVID-19 pandemic, among other events.

This symposium is an international practical and scientific event to disseminate current local studies’ outcomes and discuss SC and logistics processes, disruption risks, and effective resilience plans in Qatar at the firm level in different sizes and industries (i.e., manufacturing, services and construction).
