The Honors Program at Qatar University (QUHP) is an ideal choice for students who desire a unique curriculum, to explore various academic perspectives, and to stimulate their intellectual curiosity, as the QUHP offers an exceptional experience. The main objective of the QUHP can simply be encapsulated in the ancient Greek word "ARETÉ" (the highest level of excellence), which is adopted by both professors and students at the QUHP. In order to achieve excellence, the QUHP seeks to provide a healthy and encouraging academic environment that will enrich the quality of learning and education by setting up: activities/events, debates, field trips, seminars, independent research experiences and other actions designed to add beneficial dimensions and depths to the university experience of talented students. The QUHP aims to provide the highest integrity in teaching and learning for gifted students by providing a nurturing academic atmosphere that will promote academic improvement, creative diversity, and heighten critical thinking in order to assist students in becoming leaders in their fields in the near and far future. The QUHP urges self-discipline and continuous motivation by providing an academic surrounding filled with trust and care, based on partnership with outstanding faculty, students, parents and the wider community. The QUHP adopts a number of pedagogical values that are consistent with Qatar University's Strategic Plan, the Qatar 2030 Vision, and the Arab and Islamic Culture, including:

    • Encouraging self-respect and respect for colleagues, professors, parents and for personal and public property,

    • Transparency for constructive and effective communication between students, professors and parents,

    • Empathy for appreciating and respecting the feelings of others,

    • Appreciation of diversity in the Qatari society of all religions, traditions, and cultures,

    • Social responsibility for developing qualified and principled citizens through community service.
