Qatar University (QU) alumni from all years gathered and reconnected at the Alumni Reunion 2023 this week, which was attended by a number of guests of honors, senior officials, faculty, staff and other guests of all ages.
The gathering of QU alumni has become a popular annual event on the university's calendar. It aims to reconnect alumni with their alma mater and serves as a link between their past journey at the university and their bright future as professionals and role models within the society. The Reunion brings together friends, colleagues, and faculty and QU leaders to reenergize the spirit of pride, friendship, and loyalty and to remind alumni of their lasting connection with the university.
As part of the event, QU alumni, the Minister of Municipality HE Dr. Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Subaei was honored. The Minister holds an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering, a master’s degree in Business Administration and a PhD in Management from QU. During the ceremony, a documentary was shown which highlighted the efforts of the QU Alumni Association, among other sectors in QU.
HE Dr. Sheikh Faleh Bin Nasser Al Thani, Minister of Environment and Climate Change and President of Qatar University Alumni Association gave a speech expressing his pleasure in celebrating the ceremony for the academic year 2022-2023 and wishing the alumni all the success, urging them to maintain contact with the university.
Manager of the Alumni Relations Office, Buthaina Ibrahim Lanaqwi also spoke during the ceremony for the event, noting the importance of the occasion for the meeting of generations of alumni of QU. She also called on the alumni to participate effectively in serving their university from their various areas of work.
