    About Us

    ​In accordance with the Qatari laws regarding persons with special needs and the academic policies of Qatar University, the Inclusion and Special Needs Support Center (ISNSC) welcomes students with physical impairments, visual impairments, hearing impairments, learning disabilities, speech difficulties, psychological disorders, brain and nerve injuries, attention-deficit / hyperactivity disorder, autism, chronic diseases, and temporary injuries.

    The ISNSC provides range of services to students with special needs that includes providing notetakers in  classes, scribes and special arrangements for exams. In addition, the center provides workshop about the the rights and  issues related to students with special needs. Also,

    The center provides assistive technology solutions that suit different disabilities and provides appropriate training for students. The ISNSC also provides alternative format materials to ensure equal access to course materials . In addition, the center ensures all University buildings and facilities are physically accessible and works on maintaining digital accessibility to all University websites. Finally, The center provides Universal Design for learning (UDL) services  and updats the ISNSC website with the latest studies, translations, videos and resources in this field.

    Mission

    The ISNSC supports special needs students in higher education level and seeks to ensure the right of all special needs students to make the most of the curricula, programs, services, activities and University‘s facilities.

    Objectives

    • To achieve the inclusion for students with special needs at the best possible way academically and socially.
    • To provide appropriate and equal necessary services to students with special needs, be dealing with each case individually.
    • To create a culture of access through incorporating and applying the principles of Universal Design for Learning into Qatar University education systems with respect to curriculum development; instructional and communication technology and faculty and staff development.
