    FAQs

How are students categorized for the competition?

Students participate in the competition as teams. Each team can have a maximum of five participants.  The participating teams are categorized into 4 based on the grades in which they are studying. These 4 categories are:

    • Category I (KG - 4th)
    • Category II (5th - 6th)
    • Category III (7th - 9th)
    • Category IV (10th - 12th)

How many submissions are allowed per school?

Each boys’ or girls’ school can submit a maximum of 1 submission per team. That is, if a school has participants for all four above categories, the maximum number of submissions the school can make is four.

Each co-ed school can submit a maximum of 2 submissions per category, where one submission in a given category is for the team of boys and the other for the team of girls. There shall be no team containing both girls and boys.

    • Example 1: School A is a boys’ school with students from KG to 12th. This school can make one submission each in all four categories. This makes a total of four submissions for School A.
    • Example 2: School B is a co-ed school with boys and girls with students from KG to 12. This school can make two submissions each in all four categories. This makes the maximum number of submissions for school B, eight. Within each category, one submission is for girls and the other for boys.

How many types of submissions are available?

    • For categories I, there are three types of submission: Performance/Presentation.
    • For category II, there are three types of submission:  Research Model.
    • For categories III and IV, there are four types of submissions: Posters and Research models.
    • So, a school should choose one type of submission within each category, while co-ed schools can select two types of submissions within each category. Two scenarios are explained below:
    • Example 3: School A is a girls’ school with students from 5th to 12th. They can have three categories of students (Category II, III, and IV). See Question 1
    • For category III and IV, the school can select one of the submission types per category:  Posters or Research Model.
    • Example 4: School B is a co-ed school with students from 7th to 12th.
    • They can have two categories of students (Category III and IV). See Question 1
    • For both categories, the school can select up to two teams, comprising of only boys or girls (no mixed teams). Each team can make one submission, which can be any of the submission types mentioned above. For example, in Category III, school B can make two submissions; one for girls who present a Research Model and the second one for boys who could present a Research Model or poster. The school can make two more submissions from Category IV, as well.

We would like to change the name of the teacher/student.

Schools can modify the form of participation and change the names of students, teachers, and the type of participation so as not to conflict with the rules of the competition. Schools must consider the type of submission for each category of participation as explained in questions 1 and 3. The changes must be sent before the deadline of 20 March 2022 as we will adopt the latest submission form we receive from the school.
