    QU Colleges


    The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is the largest of QU’s colleges, contributing to the very core of the University. It offers various degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels. CAS is home to nine academic departments, 15 undergraduate programs, seven graduate programs, as well as five accredited degree programs.
    Three research centers were established at the College in Fall 2013 in order to foster a culture of research.

    The centers are: Gulf Studies Center (GSC), Center for Sustainable Development (CSD), and Center for Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS).

    CAS offers students a unique experience that provides not only the road to professional accomplishments, but a foundation for lifelong learning.

    The College of Business and Economics (CBE) is home to three academic departments -- Department of Accounting and Information Systems, Department of Finance and Economics, and Department of Management and Marketing. The College offers undergraduate and graduate business degrees. At the graduate level, six majors are available in the fields of Accounting, Information Systems, Finance, Economics, Management, and Marketing as well as eight minors in the aforementioned fields in addition to Entrepreneurship and International Business minors. At the graduate level, the College offers four degrees: a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Accounting (MAC), a Master of Science in Marketing, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration. Furthermore, CBE conducts training programs and workshops to its business community.

    Founded in 1973 by an Emiri decree, the College of Education (CED) was the first higher education institution in the State of Qatar. CED adheres to its educational principles and insightful vision to prepare graduates to contribute to Qatar’s development and growth.

    CED is home to two academic departments and three undergraduate programs -- Primary, Secondary and Special Education. Each undergraduate program includes a number of concentrations. In addition, the College offers three Masters programs -- Educational Leadership, Special Education, and Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, in addition to several high diploma programs.

    In 2012, CED achieved accreditation from the International Recognition in Teacher Education (IRTE) agency. This was followed by full accreditation from the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) in 2015 that is extended until 2023.

    CED is continually involved in various external and internal funded research projects. Through its Educational Research Unit, the College is committed to achieving research excellence and to building capacity by providing students and faculty with a supportive environment for research and scholarship. Through its National Center for Educational Development (NCED), CED plays an important role in developing and improving the quality of education provided in the State of Qatar. The College also contributes through its Early Childhood Center to early childhood education and research.

    The College of Engineering (CENG) provides unique opportunities for innovative education and research. The College aims to provide its students with abilities to succeed as engineers that are sought after in the professional world and graduate schools.

    CENG hosts six academic departments, and offers eight undergraduate programs, seven Masters programs and a Ph.D. program in Engineering with 12 concentrations. All of the College’s bachelor degree programs are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

    The College is home to three research centers and four laboratories. CENG’s outstanding faculty, researchers and students conduct research in a variety of areas.

    The College of Health Sciences (CHS) was founded in 2016 after 35 years of experience as a department. It is one of the leading academic foundations for health care, which fosters learning and scholastic excellence. The College offers undergraduate programs in biomedical sciences, human nutrition and public health, and two graduate programs - a Master of Public Health in Public Health and a Master of Science in Biomedical Science.

    CHS provides its students with an optimal and rich learning environment comprising internationally accredited academic programs, high-quality student services, well-equipped laboratories, accessible facilities, and a dynamic, diverse and talented faculty body.

    The College has a long history of collaboration with the health care sector in Qatar. This contributes to the graduation of skilled professionals in the field of health who are well-prepared to address challenges and enhance the quality of the health care in Qatar.

    CHS graduates are equipped with lifelong learning and leadership skills, and research abilities that enable them to become leaders in the health care sector in Qatar and beyond.

    The College of Law (LAWC), first of its kind in Qatar, is committed to providing its students with the finest legal education. The College offers a Bachelor’s Degree of Law in Law (LLB) and two Masters degrees in Private Law and in Public Law.

    LAWC features a Distinguished Speakers’ Program, a dedicated Center for Law and Development, and a state-of-the-art Law Clinic.

    The College publishes its acclaimed journal, the International Review of Law, and has many award-winning students in regional and international moot courts.

    The College of Medicine (CMED) was founded in October 2014 with the aim to address Qatar’s need for highly qualified, locally-based and well-educated physicians. It admitted its first cohort of students in Fall 2015.
    The College offers internationally benchmarked medical education that promotes scientific thinking and medical research with a focus on patient care and community outreach. CMED is fully aligned with Qatar’s national strategies in education and health, integrated with the national health care system, and committed to international standards and best practices.

    Registered in the World Health Organization’s (WHO) directory for international medical schools, the College offers a six-year MD program based on innovative, interactive and engaging pedagogy, and incorporating technology-based and patient-centered problem-based learning curriculum.

    The College of Pharmacy (CPH) offers the first and only pharmacy degree program in Qatar. The College has been awarded full accreditation from the Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) both the Bachelor of Science program in Pharmacy and the Doctor of Pharmacy program in Pharmacy (2018-2023).

    The College offers a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, a Master of Science in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences. These programs have been designed to provide the necessary knowledge and skills for a successful career in pharmacy.

    CPH’s research mission is to create and disseminate knowledge related to drug entities, products, therapy and medication use for the purpose of advancing health outcomes and quality of life. The College’s researchers are committed to the following fundamental principles that have been promulgated by The Council of Canadian Academies (CCA).

    The College of Sharia and Islamic Studies (CSIS) aims towards achieving a distinct model in Islamic studies that is still approachable to the modern curriculum through the development of merging majors.

    The College consists of three academic departments, three undergraduate programs, and two graduate programs - Master of Fiqh and Usul al Fiqh and Master of Quranic Sciences and Exegesis.
