Qatar University announced the launch of QU Student Support Fund after obtaining an official license from the Regulatory Authority for Charitable Activities. This fund is a platform to receive financial grants and donations from institutions and individuals to be used for some financial aid services provided to QU undergraduate level students who face financial difficulties that hinder the completion of their educational journey such as paying part of university tuition fees, University housing fees and providing laptops as a loan.
The Fund Mechanism:
The followed procedures to receive grants and donations to be used to support the eligible students can be summarized in the following points:
- The donor can complete all the necessary steps to execute the donation process with required amount of fund through one of the following means:
- Donate through a bank transfer from the donor’s bank account to the fund’s bank account;
- Access the fund donation platform for this fund to donate (still under construction).
- After completing the donation process, a confirmation of completion of any donation will be provided to the donor.
- The Student Financial Services Section at Qatar University is responsible for receiving the applications of Tuition Fees payment Aid, Housing Fees payment Aid, and Laptop Loan Aid, preparing lists of nominated students who will benefit from available donations, and submitting proposals of students’ coverage fees percentage to Financial Aid Committee to get the needed approval.
- Based on the approval, the student Financial Services Section informs the students of the decisions and completes fees payment procedures for accepted students according to the allocated amounts for each student in coordination with the related authorities at the university using the available donations.
