The Master of Biomedical Science program supports the goals of QNV 2030 by having skilled national workforce that enhances the understanding of disease, improving medical diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Students will develop advanced skills and knowledge that include critical and independent thinking, research design, analytical method evaluation and scientific literature assessment. The curriculum emphasizes advanced principles of medical laboratory sciences in areas such as clinical chemistry, microbiology, hematology & Immunohematology, molecular diagnostics, and lab management. High quality faculty contribute significantly to the instructional and research needs of the program.
Educational Objectives
The main objective of the Biomedical Science Program is to prepare highly skilled graduates with advanced knowledge, technical and critical analysis skills to meet the demand of healthcare needs of the State of Qatar. The Master program in Biomedical Science prepares biomedical scientists for opportunities in medical and research laboratories, hospital laboratories and state health laboratories.
Graduates of this M.Sc. program will be able to:
- Apply advanced knowledge to evaluate and solve problems related to biomedical laboratory testing, technical and administrative procedures.
- Possess effective communication skills in a variety of professional settings.
- Design, conduct and evaluate various types of research in their substantive areas, according to ethical standards.
