    Minor in Public Health

Public health is an exciting and growing field. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the vital role of public health in keeping people healthy and safe. Public health covers a broad and diverse range of issues that intersect with many other disciplines. A minor in Public Health provides the opportunity for students from other majors to develop an understanding about the intersecting determinants of public health and health inequities, including people’s biological, socio-economic, psychological, and behavioural characteristics, and their social, cultural, economic, commercial, political, natural, and built environments. The minor in Public Health also focuses on strategies to protect and improve the health and wellbeing of people at all levels from the community to national, regional, and global levels.

    Declaring the minor

Applicants for the minor in Public Health must satisfy QU requirements for declaring a minor. The minor is open to any interested female undergraduate student excluding those majoring in Public Health.
