    Grade Point Average (GPA)

A student's GPA is an indicator of a student's overall performance at Qatar University. Each grade represents a mark, and points for this grade represent the basis for calculating the student's cumulative average.

The average points earned for each course are calculated by multiplying the number of study hours registered for this course by the number of grade points obtained by the student in this course. Qatar University determines the semester GPA achieved by the student in the semester by dividing the total average points earned by the student in this semester by the total number of academic hours registered by the student in the same semester. Similarly, the University student's cumulative GPA is determined by dividing the total GPA points earned by the student by the total number of hours earned at the university.
