University Textbooks

University Textbooks Section is one of the student services offered by Qatar University to provide textbooks for students and faculty members, and managing the purchasing process between the college and the appropriate departments according to the certified regulations and decisions.

Ensure that students and Instructors in Qatar University have the necessary Textbook, to support the academic growth of QU students.

• Qatar University offers the Textbook service on campus for registered students and faculty members.
• Qatar University provides support for the textbooks of all registered students (where the university contributes to pay 50% of the cost of textbooks that are priced more than 50 QR specified by course professors) and Students bear the value of the Textbooks which are priced at less than 50 QR.
• The University Textbooks Section determines and announces the procedures and instructions related to the distribution of textbooks.
• Colleges and Academic Departments are committed to providing training courses on the eBooks to all faculty members and students at the beginning of each semester.

• Textbooks Section is now located at the New Student Affairs Building I11, Ground Floor (LOCATION).
• Kindly follow the walk-in service instruction guide placed on the computers of the service.
• A fee of 3 QR per bag will be added if bags are requested upon purchasing textbooks, which is non-refundable.
• Bringing a companion into University Textbooks Section is not allowed, except for students with special needs.
• An authorized third party is permitted to receive the textbooks on behalf of students with special needs, according to the following conditions:
  • Must reserve a separate appointment for him\her and show the reservation’s confirmation page when coming to the Section on their behalf.
  • The authorized third party must bring his/her Qatari ID and student's QU ID card for both the third party and the student.

• Students cannot return printed or electronic textbooks after purchase.
• Students have the right to exchange the printed book if there are defects in the purchased copy within one month of receipt.
• In case the student is unable to access the eBook after receiving the access code, he/she should contact the University Textbooks Section via email ebooks@qu.edu.qa through their QU email and take a screenshot of the problem facing him/her.
• Fees can be paid online through the e-payment system, which is available 24/7, or at the Treasury Office located in the Student Affairs Building I11. These fees include textbook, packaging and bag fees.
• Students can receive the textbook for the second time in the same semester, but with the full price not supported by a 50% discount.
• Students can receive textbooks as a reference if it is not assigned for the student, but with the full price not supported by a 50% discount.
• Students can find out the prices of books through the Self-Service system.
  
• Packaging, delivery and bags fees are non-refundable.

Optional service for the delivery of printed textbooks assigned to student courses where the service can now be requested with additional fees through Self-Service System.

What is the service delivery fees?

• Packaging fee of 15 QR. paid to Qatar University (non-refundable).
• Delivery fee of 25 QR. to be paid in cash to Qatar Post upon receipt of your textbooks.

What is the service delivery time?

• The textbooks parcel will be delivered within three to five working days after it has been processed by the University Textbooks Section.
