This program targets law graduates who have gained practical experience after their bachelor's degree and whose graduation grades do not qualify them to enroll in the Master's Program in the College of Law at Qatar University. It is an opportunity to develop legal knowledge and research skills and serves as a bridge for learners to apply for the Master's Program if they meet all the stipulated conditions.
Please note that the Graduate Studies Certificate Program in Legal Studies is currently suspended, and no new applications are being accepted at this time.
Admission Conditions:
The following conditions are required to join the Program:
Applicant must have a Bachelor's Degree in law with a GPA of 2.3 - 2.79.
Applicant must choose one of the two tracks: Public Law or Private Law.
Conditions for Joining the Master's Program after Obtaining the Certificate Degree:
Any student who obtains a Graduate Studies Certificate in Legal Studies may apply for the Master's Program in Public or Private Law after satisfying the following conditions:
The GPA in the Graduate Degree Program shall not be less than 3.2 / 4.
Submission of an application for the Master's Program.
Required Documents:
All applicants for the Graduate Studies Program in Law must submit the following documents to the Admission Department:
Electronic admission application filled out by the applicant.
Undergraduate final and official transcript.
A personal statement in which the applicant explains the reason for choosing the Program, the practical experiences they gained after the Bachelor's Degree, and their plans and goals after obtaining the Program Certificate.
Two recommendation letters from their university faculty.
A detailed CV.
A health certificate.
A copy of the Qatari ID or a copy of the passport for applicants from outside Qatar.
Two identical recent photographs, size 6 × 4, with a white background.
Payment notice of QR 350 as application fees.
Program Study Plan
Student must complete 12 credit hours in one academic year, in which student studies 3 compulsory hours of the Course “Legal Research Skills”, and 9 elective hours in which student chooses three courses as shown below:
