Qatar University (QU)'s Young Scientists Center (QUYSC) stood out at the Eleventh World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) 2023, underscoring its commitment to cutting-edge education and technological advancements.

Focused on leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI) in education, the Center's participation marked a significant milestone in fostering advanced learning methodologies. The conference's themes revolved around “Horizons of Creativity: Enhancing Human Potential in the Age of AI.”

In a world embracing rapid digital transformation across sectors, education stands as a critical domain benefiting from technological evolution. The QUYSC remains at the forefront, aligning with the institution's strategic vision to integrate digital advancements into educational paradigms.

The WISE Summit 2023, themed “Horizons of Creativity: Enhancing Human Potential in the Age of AI,” gathered over 150 local and global education experts. Among these luminaries, the Center hosted an engaging workshop targeting school students, titled “How to develop your skills in education through AI?” The workshop, meticulously crafted by the Center, aimed to cultivate students' creative abilities through AI-driven educational tools. It included various scientific activities aimed at introducing students to the latest educational applications and programs that assist them in the learning process, enabling them to acquire information more accurately and efficiently than traditional teaching methods.

The workshop also addressed significant topics in the field of AI, such as machine learning and its use in developing technology-based innovations. Competitive challenges among student groups were introduced to solve electronic activities, and the students enthusiastically engaged with the presented topics, gaining insights into important concepts and applications in the field of AI that benefit their educational journey and improve their creative skills.
Prof. Noora Jabor Al-Thani, Director of QUYSC, emphasized the institution's continuous pursuit of educational excellence. Stating, “The QUYSC receiving the WISE Innovation in Education Award in 2015 for the Al-Bairaq program initiated in 2010 underscores the center's continuous commitment to keeping pace with developments in the education field, enhancing student learning outcomes, and providing opportunities for students to engage in scientific research and capacity-building programs.”

Prof. Al-Thani added, “AI currently stands as a pivotal driver of technological progress and scientific research. Therefore, our center's integration of e-learning methodologies aims to equip students with high-level digital skills, preparing them for a future where excellence and leadership define the State of Qatar.”

It is worth mentioning that the summit included interactive sessions and discussions on the implications and impacts of AI at the educational level. It also addressed crucial topics in the world of technology, such as future classrooms, AI and digital sovereignty, and the establishment of ethical AI. Moreover, the QUYSC's presence and impactful workshop at the WISE Summit 2023 reinforce its dedication to advancing education through AI integration. By nurturing student capabilities and embracing technological advancements, the Center remains poised to shape a promising educational landscape.
