Qatar University’s Social and Economic Survey Research Institute – SESRI has passed the internationally recognized ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management Standards from Beru Veritas.
The certificate was issued on May 29, 2020 - valid for 3 years, to be audited annually during this period to ensure that we comply with the certification requirements which includes all three departments of the institute.
The certificate demonstrates the Institute's commitment to quality, continuous improvement, customer focus, risk management and compliance (with laws and regulations). The institute’s systems and regulations include commitment to national development through the advancement of experimental social sciences and survey research, enhancing community awareness of the threats to key issues, supporting high-quality decision-makers with data and surveys on various issues. The continuous development of the team in the institute, to establish the highest quality standards, and other policies that the institute devotes in its own policy lines.
In a statement on this occasion, Dr. Hassan Abdulrahim Al-Sayed, SESRI Director, expressed his happiness for achieving internationally recognized quality management standards ISO 9001: 2015 and its reflection on continuous improvement, in accordance with the laws and regulations. And Dr. Hassan affirmed the keenness of the employees of Institute, Research and Administrative Authority to follow the quality standards.
He noted the Institute's contribution in recent years in providing the political decision-maker in Qatar with high-quality research towards all national, regional issues and dealing in an organized, coordinated and professional manner with the research challenges imposed by the conditions of the region and the world.
The institute started the internal preparation for the requirements of the certificate at the institute since January 2019, where the institute employees got the awareness session of the ISO 9001: 2015 certification in March 2019, and the institute successfully passed the internal audit and first stage of the main audit, which qualified it for the final audit that took place on 8 and 9 March 2020. Which was successfully passed too.
