    Customers:

    Staff and Faculty of Qatar University.

    Description:

    Full-time Employees are eligible for ONE computing device (either a laptop or a desktop, but not both). Devices will be assigned(tagged) under the Personal custody. New, Replacement & Purchasing requests can be placed depending on many factors such as budget, availability, hardware lifetime, status of existing hardware, job requirements, business objectives, and Higher management level approvals. Devices request can also be put forward for Part-time employees.
    For part-time employees, visitors, researches, etc., the computing device will be issued under the Employee’s Manager’s custody when approved.
    ITS Department handles the process of supplying, supporting, and maintaining all distributed computers.

    Benefits & Features:

    • Desktop/Laptop:QU employee will be issued computing devices with high standards and technical specifications
    • Connectivity:Computing devices are prepared with all required up-to-date OS and updated with office applications in addition to tools and utilities needed on Campus. They are pre-configured to be connected to QU-network, Centralized Printing system, etc.

    Access Request:

    • Requesting new hardware: New hardware (laptop, desktop, etc.) can be requested by submitting a request to ITS Helpdesk providing required custody information (name, job ID and location). All requests must be submitted to Financial Coordinator of the College/Department and accompanied with justifications and approval from the higher management levels.
    • Requesting replacement of hardware: Replacement of existing hardware depends on many factors such as budget, availability, hardware lifetime, status of existing hardware, job requirements, and business objectives, along with dean’s/director’s approval.

    Customers:

    Staff and faculty of Qatar University.

    Description:

    ITS Department provides setup, support and maintenance of Hardware (PC’s, printers, scanners, screens, etc.) for all eligible QU faculty and staff.

    Benefits & Features:

    • OS: computers are issued to employees with latest Windows release depending on the machine provided.
    • Standard QU software: MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, Internet browsers, Antivirus and WinRAR
    • Centralized printing system: QU Print is enable by default.
    • Connectivity: PC’s are pre customized to connect to QU-network, centralized printing system, etc.
    • Extra software: installation of software in addition to standard will be entertained upon request and depending upon availability of licenses, budget if required, job requirements, may also require approval from College/Department officials.

    • Students requiring specific software as requested by faculty and approved/legitimized by ITS.

    Description:

    ITS Department provides a list of QU licensed software to meet the University’s academic and business needs. Requested software will be installed for eligible faculty, staff and students upon request and based on availability of licenses and College/Department approval.

    Benefits & Features:

    List of software is kept up to date and with the latest stable versions.

    Access Request:

    • Software installation and upgrade request: Software installation can be requested by submitting a request to ITS Helpdesk. Please check Software Catalog.
    • Software installation and upgrade services for students: Requests can be submitted by instructors to ITS Helpdesk. Installation depends upon availability of the software licenses.

    • Installing and upgrading of non-QU licensed software on non-QU issued computers
    • Devices provided by QU but not of a standard model may take longer period when supported.

    Customers:

    Staff, faculty, students. Customers can also be resident non-QU workers and visitors.

    Description:

    QU Print enables QU Community to use any MFD’s on Campus to print, copy and scan-to-email using QU issued ID Cards or QU issued Credentials. This service is based on “Follow-You” (Your Print Job will Follow You) methodology. The printouts will never be physically available until the user swipes his/her QU ID Card or enter the correct credentials. All unclaimed jobs are purged permanently from the queue after they reached a preset threshold (24Hrs).

    Benefits & Features:

    Copying, Printing and Scanning-to-email from any MFD machine located throughout QU Campuses.

    Access Request:

    QU Print service request: QU Print configuration and setup can be requested by submitting a request to ITS Helpdesk.

    Service Exclusions:

    Supported OS are Windows, Mac iOS and Android. Any other OS is not compatible with QU system and will not be supported.

    Customers:

    Staff, faculty and Students of Qatar University.

    Description:

    ITS department offers three different levels of technical supports, Helpdesk support, Remote Support and on-site support.

    Benefits & Features:

    • Users Accounts: changing/reset accounts password. Enable and unlocks users accounts.
    • Hardware: setup, configuration and troubleshooting for printers, laptop, desktop, etc.
    • Software support: installation, activation and upgrade for QU software.
    • Mobile: Mobile support is limited to QU-Wi-Fi and email configuration.

    Technical support service: Request for Technical Support can be submitted to ITS Helpdesk.

    Service Exclusions:

    Any hardware or software that are not provided and supported by QU.

    Customers:

    Staff and Faculty of Qatar University.

    Description:

    IT Services provides technical support and services for all Qatar University sponsored events including meetings, conferences, workshops, ceremonies and others.

    Benefits & Features:

    Enhancing QU events and workshops by supporting and providing Technical services and IT-related items including laptops, printers, display screens, projectors and sound systems.

    Access Request:

    Event support services: Requests for event support can be submitted to ITS Helpdesk at least ten business days in advance of the date of the event.

    Service Exclusions:

    • Equipment that are not provided by Qatar University.
    • On-site support for events outside Qatar University Campuses.
