QU’s College of Health Sciences Celebrates International Biomedical Laboratory Science Day

The Department of Biomedical Sciences at Qatar University’s (QU) College of Health Sciences celebrated International Biomedical Laboratory Science Day, under the theme “Guardians of Quality and Patient Safety: Biomedical Laboratory Scientists,” where students designed booths showcasing various career paths available to biomedical scientists.

The aim of the International Biomedical Science Day is to raise awareness of the crucial role biomedical laboratory scientists play in delivering healthcare, as they play a pivotal role in modern medical sciences contributing to diagnosis, quality development and assurance, treatment, research and development.

These scientists work to ensure that information derived from analyzing human specimens is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable. They must continuously adapt to evolving trends in analytical methodologies, advancement in diagnosis and treatment and changes in healthcare settings. Thus, the day is used to actively promote the professional skills and contributions to ensure good health services.
