I would like to welcome you to the website of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Qatar University. The department is well known for its high-quality learning environment, outstanding reputation in research, and strong engagement with the local community and industry. We offer comprehensive teaching and research across key Civil Engineering disciplines, including Structural Engineering, Construction Management and Safety, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Pavement and Transportation Engineering.
Our dedicated team of academics, teaching assistants, technicians, and support staff work closely with colleagues from other departments in the College of Engineering to support the college’s vision of being recognized regionally for excellence in education, research, and community engagement, and for producing socially responsible graduates of the highest quality.
At the undergraduate level, our department offers a major program leading to a Bachelor's degree, and at the postgraduate level, we offer Master’s and Ph.D. programs. Additionally, we have a minor program in Engineering Project Management for College of Engineering students. Beginning in Fall 2024, we will also offer a new concentration in Environmental Engineering.
The Civil Engineering Program at Qatar University is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET (https://www.abet.org), under both the General Criteria and the Program Criteria for Civil Engineering and similarly named engineering programs. This accreditation serves as an international endorsement, recognizing that our program provides the highest quality education.
