The main purpose of the math program is to equip students with the fundamental mathematic skills to prepare them for further university studies. The Math program offers two courses:
- Elementary Algebra (MATH021)
- Pre-Calculus (MATHP100)
For each course, there are four (4) contact hours weekly (3 hours for lecture and 1 hour for lab session) for 15 weeks. The passing grade in Elementary Algebra is 70% (C), whereas the passing grade in Pre-Calculus is 60% (D). Student must attend 75% of the classes as per Qatar Univeristy regulations. Lately, basic calculators are allowed thoroughout the course and tests.
