Proposal Instructions

The Qatar University Foundation Program invites presenters to submit proposals for its 4th Annual International Conference on Language Teaching to be held in Doha, Qatar December 14-15, 2019. Proposals for papers, panel discussions, workshops, teaching ideas or tips are expected to address the conference theme:

Critical Thinking in Language Curriculum for the 21st Century

Proposal Types:

• Interactive Workshop (50 minutes)
• Research/Approaches to Teaching (20 minutes)
• Panel Discussion (45 minutes + 15 minutes Q&A).

Proposals should fall into one of the following categories:

• Critical Thinking
• Learner Autonomy
• Learner Motivation
• Practical Ideas in the Classroom
• Error Correction Techniques
• Task-based Learning
• Action Research
• Classroom Management
• Testing and Assessment
• Mobile Learning
• Technology in the classroom
• Professional development

Tips for Writing Proposals

1. Title: 7 words maximum
2. Abstract: 50 words maximum. Published in the conference program.
3. Session description: 250 words maximum. Proposal review will be based on this.
4. Biography: 40 words 

Guidelines for Proposal Submission

1. Write your first and lastnames as you would want them to appear on your certificate
2. Proposals must be submitted through the online proposal submission form at the following link.
   
3. The session description must not exceed 250 words
4. Acronyms and/or abbreviations should be spelled out
5. Please refrain from submitting a proposal previously presented at another conference
6. Write your name (first and last) as you would want it to appear on your certificate

The deadline for proposal submissions is September 14, 2019

Please note the following:

• The Foundation Program is unable to provide financial assistance or secure visas for presenters to attend the conference.
