The Department of Accounting and Information Systems at the College of Business and Economics received a five-year accreditation (January 1, 2018 - December 31, 2022) by the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA) in the UK.
The ACCA has agreed that Qatar University, College of Business and Economics accounting students - who will graduate on or after January 1, 2018 - will be exempt from seven ACCA courses (where a maximum of nine exams are eligible for exemption to gain the ACCA qualification). This symbolizes that our accounting graduate students receive professional knowledge which equips them to be competent candidates in job market.
The ACCA accreditation reflects the strength of the Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting program. The ACCA courses’ exemption is an evident of the quality of the accounting courses delivered and reflects how the program incorporates practical and professional aspects which help our students to become knowledgeable accounting professionals.
The ACCA accreditation combined with the IMA quality endorsement which the department has recently earned from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) recognize that Qatar University accounting program meet the quality educational standards required to enable students to progress in their professional career.
