In adhering to the general mission of Qatar University and the College of Education, the Department of Psychological Sciences strives to be a leader in preparing highly qualified professionals who can respond to the needs of Qatari society in terms of successfully developing and implementing effective educational and psychological programs which are governed by international academic quality standards.
Mission
The Department of Psychological sciences is committed put every effort in the preparation and continuing education highly qualified professionals in early childhood education and special education. Its programs both at the graduate and undergraduate levels with their various components of coursework and field experiences are designed to prepare teachers to meet society needs and dealing with challenges of today world. The Department of Psychological sciences organizing seminars and training workshops for professionals in the fields of early childhood, special education, educational psychology and mental health. Providing best teaching, research and consultancy practices in the field of psychological sciences.
Objectives
- Prepare highly qualified graduates, who have outstanding knowledge and skills of the of their field.
- Promote the capacity to manage special education institutions.
- Participation in community service and activating partnership between the College of Education and society institutions related to Mental Health and Special Education through research projects and investment services.
- Encouragement of scientific research, in collaboration with the Center for Education Research and Development and other academic departments.
