    Admission

    The admission process for the MSc (Pharm) degree program is designed to ensure the best and brightest candidates are admitted to our program. Acceptance into the MSc (Pharm) degree program is by a competitive application process. Only complete applications will be considered by the MSc (Pharm) Degree Program Admissions Committee.

    A. Application to the MSc (Pharm) Degree Program

    The application process for this degree program is coordinated by the Qatar University Admissions Department. For more information, please go to their website.

    Admissions officially opens in the first quarter of each year. Please refer to the Qatar University Admission Department Application Timelines webpage for information pertaining to critical dates including the application deadline. Admission to the MSc (Pharm) degree program takes place in the Fall semester only.

    There are three stages to the application process:

    1. Application Stage

      The application process for this degree program is coordinated by the Qatar University Admissions Department. For more information, please go to their website.

      It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure a complete application package is received by Qatar University Admissions Department on or before the application deadline. An incomplete application package will prevent an applicant from advancing to the next stage. We encourage applicants to complete their application package well in advance of the deadline to ensure a timely review of your application.

      A complete application package consists of the following:

      1. Admissions Application and Signature Page
      2. Official, final and authenticated academic transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions
      3. Official and final TOEFL or IELTS English proficiency results or English waiver
      4. Curriculum Vitae (C.V.);
      5. Personal statement describing why you wish to pursue this degree (1000 words maximum, English only, copy/paste into your online application form);
      6. Three letters of recommendation from undergraduate professors or employers (send DOC or PDF form to referee, request they follow instructions on form and ensure form is received as email attachment by our office before the application deadline);
      7. Health Certificate
      8. Photocopy of the applicant’s Qatar ID card (Applicants from outside Qatar should provide a copy of their passport);
      9. Passport photographs (2 copies within past 2 years);
      10. QAR 350 application fee.

    2. Screen and Interview Stage

      Selected applicants will be invited to interview with the Admissions Committee. These interviews will be conducted at the Qatar University College of Pharmacy offices in Doha, Qatar. All associated expenses will be borne by the selected applicants. Not every applicant will be selected for an interview, but no applicant will be accepted without being interviewed.

    3. Selection and Offer Stage

      The College Admissions Committee will identify the top applicants and offers of admission will be made in May 2023. All applicants will be notified by email as to the outcome of their application and further instructions will be provided as required. Some offers of admission may be conditional.

    B. Selection Process

    The College of Pharmacy selects applicants it considers best qualified for this advanced degree program. In particular, the college will select for admission those students who demonstrate academic potential, a motivation to study in the pharmaceutical sciences and clinical pharmacy & practice, and the qualities and skills necessary to contribute to this discipline at an advanced level.

    The College Admissions Committee takes a number of factors into consideration during the application review process. These factors include academic performance (course grades and credit-hours), GRE test scores (if provided), English proficiency scores, structured interview outcomes, letters of recommendation, personal statements, research experience, leadership potential, emotional maturity, knowledge of the discipline, and other related academic and non-academic criteria.

    Enrollment to the full-time study plan is limited to a maximum of 15 qualified students for the Fall Semester 2022.
