Visit the TAD Boot Camp (Thesis and Dissertation) to help with your research writing. The TAD Boot Camp is a graduate writing event designed to bring together the various services available at the university in one convenient location. The TAD Boot Camp for Research, Thesis, and Dissertation also creates a productive writing environment aimed at helping graduate students replace procrastination with productivity!

This three-day event includes TAD writing sessions, individual writing support sessions, research consultations with experienced researchers in your field, as well as open writing space for students to work at their own pace with peers, or in small groups. Graduate students participating in the TAD Boot Camp are also eligible to apply for the TAD Boot Camp Award, which is announced annually at the Qatar University Annual Research Forum and Exhibition. These awards are aimed at recognizing graduate students who produce excellent research as a result of their participation in the boot camp. So, be sure to bring your laptop, notebook, and any other research materials or data you have, and enjoy hours of graduate-level writing and research discussions with like-minded graduate students.

3-Minute Thesis Competiti​on is an academic competition for master's and doctoral students to describe their research in three minutes to a general audience.

This competition celebrates the discoveries made by research students and encourages them to communicate the importance of their research to the wider community. The 3-Minute Thesis Competition is an opportunity to celebrate graduate students in Qatar and showcase the many exceptional graduate opportunities in Qatar!

Qatar University has hosted the 3-Minute Thesis Competition for several years, and we are now excited to host the National 3-Minute Thesis Competition as well, bringing together all higher education institutions in Qatar that offer thesis-based graduate programs, including:

1. Qatar University (3MT Organizer)
2. Doha Institute for Graduate Studies
3. Hamad Bin Khalifa University
4. HEC Paris – Qatar
5. Stenden University Qatar
6. Texas A&M University at Qatar
7. University of Calgary in Qatar
8. University of Sussex in Qatar

In addition to the wonderful learning opportunity that this competition provides for graduate students in Qatar, the 3-Minute Thesis Competition aims to:

• Celebrate the achievements of graduate students
• Announce and promote the many graduate programs available in Qatar
• Raise awareness of the resources available to support graduate students in Qatar
• Encourage and inspire future students to join graduate programs in Qatar
• Facilitate and enhance collaboration between universities

In preparation for the 3-Minute Thesis Competition, the Graduate Studies Office offers training workshops available in both English and Arabic for all graduate students interested in participating. These sessions are also available on the Blackboard Community.
