As a part of the activities for the Qatar University Annual Research Forum & Exhibition, the Office of Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies would like to announce the opening of applications for the Graduate Studies Awards in four categories. Awards will be announced at the Annual Research Forum & Exhibition, date will be communicated later.

Category 1: Thesis Award
This award is open to graduate students who have a completed thesis manuscript approved by their Main Supervisor prior to the deadline to apply. Graduate students who have graduated in the previous semester are also eligible to apply.
Category 2: Dissertation Award
This award is open to graduate students who have a completed dissertation manuscript approved by their Main Supervisor prior to the deadline to apply. Graduate students who have graduated in the previous semester are also eligible to apply for the Dissertation Award.
Category 3: Graduate Research Award
This award has 2 categories: The Graduate Research Award for Humanities and Social Sciences, and the Graduate Research Award for Sciences.
The research award is open to graduate students who have published (2) research papers OR has published (1) research paper with evidence of acceptance for the second research paper. All publications must be in no less than Q2 journals or its equivalent.
Category 4: The 3MT (three minute thesis) Award
The 3MT competition is a live competition in which graduate students have three minutes to present their research in front of a panel of judges. With only one static slide (no other props or visual aids may be used), students are challenged to present their research findings in simple terms to a general audience. Any graduate student working on a thesis/dissertation who has obtained the results of their research is eligible to participate (it is not necessary to have the full written manuscript).
Category 6: The tad Boot Camp Awards (currently on hold)
The boot camp awards are in recognition of high-caliber graduate research that demonstrates a strong potential for significant research impact and is in recognition of the caliber of work that can be produced by participating in the boot camp event. Any graduate student who registers (and attends) the boot camp and who is working on a thesis/dissertation is eligible to apply for the award provided they submit the full thesis proposal (Chapters 1, 2 & 3 including the methodology) prior to the deadline.
Deadline for all applications is May 2nd, 2024.
