Program B.Sc. in Computer Engineering
The Computer Engineering program focuses on the design, analysis, and applications of computer hardware and software as components of integrated computing systems. It overlaps with computer science on one end (software systems) and with electrical engineering on other (digital hardware). The program equips students with hands-on experience on system design and implementation by offering a set of practical labs in digital logic, microprocessor, electronic signal processing, computer interfacing, robotics, etc.

Accreditation ensures that the students, parents, employers, and the society we serve can be confident that a program meets the quality standards that produce graduates prepared to enter a global workforce.
Program Educational Objectives
The expected accomplishments of graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering program at Qatar University are expected to:
- Establish successful computing or engineering careers in industry or government that will contribute to the economic development of the country, the region, and beyond.
- Contribute to the design, development, and improvement of solutions to interdisciplinary computing or engineering problems.
- Contribute effectively to the computing or engineering profession as a valued professional while fostering effective interaction, ethical practices, and lifelong learning.
- Pursue entrepreneurial endeavors or advanced studies if they so desire.
Students Outcomes
The Student Outcomes (SOs) of the Computer Engineering program are:
- An ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
- An ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors.
- An ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
- An ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
- An ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives.
- An ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions.
- An ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
Admission Requirements
- Students are admitted competitively and must have completed their secondary school certificate in a Science or a Technology track.
- High school score: Not less than 70% for the general secondary education certificate or its equivalent according to the university regulations. The high school score requirement may be reconsidered when the capacity of the programs allows additional admissions, provided that potential students achieve a score of 61 or higher in TOEFL iBT OR 5.5 or higher in IELTS as well as achieving 24 or higher in ACT Math OR 550 or higher in SAT( General Math Component- Old version ) OR 570 or higher in SAT (General Math component- New version). The CENG dean (or designee) will consider such requests against the quality and depth of the applicant pool, the available capacity within the applicant's intended major, and the high school subject grades.
- Proficiency in English and mathematics by satisfying the minimum competency requirements set by the University or pass the Foundation Program.
Students who have not met the college minimum competency requirements may be admitted to the QU Foundation Program as engineering foundation students.
