Program Overview
The Computer Science Program at Qatar University was first offered in 1989. It is designed to provide and equip students with the knowledge, training, and skills needed by industry in the field of computer science.
It offers an exciting curriculum covering the fundamentals of computer science, including mathematical reasoning, algorithmic thinking, and programming. It also includes project-oriented courses to provide a practical experience that spans the entire spectrum of computer science including programming, algorithms, databases, networking, mobile and web development, software engineering, big data, machine learning, and computer security. The program provides a creative learning environment with state-of-the-art facilities and interactive training. The graduates of this program are well prepared for a range of careers in Computer Science both in Qatar and internationally.
The computer science program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET (http://www.abet.org). Accreditation ensures that the program meets the quality standards that produce graduates prepared to enter a global workforce. The program applies systematic and effective continuous improvement methods through the program’s assessment and evaluation.

Admission Requirements
Students are admitted competitively in accordance with QU defined admission requirements including satisfying the minimum high school percentage requirement. In addition, applicants must either satisfy the University competency requirements or successfully complete all requirements of the Foundation Program
